ITK Catering Bread
About This Spot
Stepping into ITK Catering Bread feels a little like entering a warm, familiar kitchen tucked quietly beside the bustle of Calgary’s Northeast. It’s a modest spot where the rhythm slows down just enough to invite connection—between the aromas that drift steadily through the air and the genuine warmth of a family-run space. You don’t find flashy signs or a sprawling dining room here; instead, there’s a sense of quiet purpose, rooted in tradition and community.
While the space is compact, its heart is vast. The soft murmur of conversation blends seamlessly with the comforting bustle of fresh bread being pulled from the oven and the gentle clatter of pots preparing soulful African dishes. There’s a comforting homeliness that invites you to pause and savor the moment, even if it’s just a quick stop to gather something special to take home.
The flavors that define ITK Catering Bread carry stories and heritage—the kind you taste in each tender morsel of slow-cooked stews or in the sweet crispness of plantain frying just right. Here, food is more than sustenance; it’s a bridge to a culture that celebrates family, memories, and time-honored recipes passed down through generations.
Though the location doesn’t offer dine-in, the experience unfolds in the careful preparation and authenticity felt in every bite. Regulars and newcomers alike find comfort in the variety—from familiar favorites that evoke nostalgia to vibrant dishes that open the door to new culinary journeys.
Situated quietly on 8 Ave NE, this humble restaurant holds a special place for those seeking a genuine taste of Nigerian home cooking in Calgary—a reminder that sometimes the best discoveries come from small, heartfelt places where culinary tradition and local spirit meet.

This small place operated by wonderful family with a big hearts. If you love African (and especially Nigerian food) this is your destination. You can buy variety of delicious foods right at the store, including but not limited: Jollof, white and fried rice, puff-puff, fried plantain, assorted meats, efo riro, amala, chin chin, malta, agege bread (baked at the location) and many more. You can order catering for your party here too (I attended party of around 1000 people, catered by ITK Catering and food and service was simply the best). Highly recommend to visit.

I've only tried the egusi soup here and it's delicious! I crave it all the time now. I ordered mine with beef and tripe.

I visited around The last week of October. Nice food and different dishes. As a Torontonian, I thought I won’t get the choice of food I eat in Toronto in Calgary but this was spectacular. I will always check back again when I come visit my family in Calgary. I saw a picture in the reviews 6years ago and I decided to take another shot but the funny thing is nothing changed as 6years ago looks the same like the one I took.

Food is decent. There's no dine in at the location, and the location can be difficult to spot
